Week 25
Weight gained: 7kg (must've stuffed myself this week!)
Feeling: Inspired
Baby stats: 13", 1.5 pounds

Maybe I am biased, but I have yet to see any preggy clothes that I've liked. Not that I have spent a lot of time looking (since it's the least of my priorities), but nothing has really popped out at me. When I was in HK in August, my mum-in-law brought Vincent and I shopping one day for some maternity clothing. She brought us to this shop called "ohoh-mini" and the clothes was... pretty horrendous. After about 10 minutes, I gave in and let her buy me a pair of 3/4 length black sweats for summer in Sydney, but couldn't bring myself to get anything else. Recently I found the brochure that the sales lady gave me and I've posted it below.

Is it me or does it seem like this brochure is promoting teen pregnancy? The girls don't look a day older than 14. And as someone who is pregnant, I can say that I don't want to look like I'm going to a pep rally.
Today I had an itching to make chocolate chip cookies. Then that itching turned into chocolate cake. I ended up finding a recipe for Chocolate Chip Cake cookies, which satisfied both cravings and turned out really yummy (but a bit too chocolate-y for my taste). They're slightly crispy on the outside, but very chewy when you bite into it. Here's a photo of them which Vincent's hand interrupted:

Yesterday we took a walk around our neighbourhood and Vincent allowed me to buy some ice cream. I was so excited that I ended up just scooping a whole bunch into my mouth, only to later have a tummy ache. Don't know if I ate too much, or if the little princess just doesn't like chocolate ice cream (how is that possible?!).
Dre: I'm sure sherbet can be substituted... I'm thinking sorbet is the best way to go. Anyhow, I've had the ice cream so my craving has been satisfied!
Last night was Date Night for me and the hubby! I made ribs for the first time (his fave American thing to eat) and the meat was actually very tender and the meat fell right off the bone. And now I'll leave you with the photo. (Let me know if you want any of the recipes!)

i will take an order of ribs and two orders of cookies, please. yum!
So cute you still have date night? :) How come you have to cook?! Dude pass me the recipe for the ribs. So jealous it's summer in Sydney :P
i'll take 3 orders of ribs, one order of cookies, and a baby. but I just want to dress her up in cute animal costumes - ruth can do all the "maintenance" work.
Since I have the energy now, I try and cook whenever possible. It's too fun not to do, and I don't like eating out all time. And plus, I like to be a good housewife!
Here's the recipe for the ribs!
Fall-Off-The-Bone Ribs
2 racks babyback ribs
1c boiling water
2T butter
1/2c ketchup
1/2c BBQ sauce
1c hot water
3T brown sugar
2T vinegar
1. Preheat oven to 150C (300F).
2. Cut the ribs into 3-4 ribs each
3. Place on rack in roasting pan; pour boiling water in bottom of pan. Cover tightly with foil and bake 2 hours.
4. In saucepan, melt butter and add ketchup and BBQ sauce.
5. In measuring cup, mix remaining ingredients until brown sugar dissolved.
6. Add this saucepan and bring to a boil. Turn down to low heat and simmer for 1 hr, stirring occasionally, until thickened.
7. Remove ribs from roasting pan and transfer to foil-lined baking sheet. Brush both sides generously with sauce.
8. Turn oven up to 190C (375F) and bake ribs another 20 mins.
9. Eat and enjoy!
